Birthday Party!

Here it is- the big birthday party post! We celebrated McKenzie's birthday on Saturday with as many family members as could make it. We had a GREAT time and we were so happy to see everyone!

Playing around with Papa

We let her practice her cake eating on her actual birthday so here's a fun video for you to enjoy!

I decided a long time ago that when I had kids I was going to make all their birthday cakes. I've never really decorated a cake before, but my mom always made our cakes growing up and I wanted to keep that tradition for our family. My mom brought down her icing kit and showed me how to do it, and here is the result! It actually looked close to what I pictured in my head. Haha! Not too shabby, eh?

I know, I know... the way I set up the cupcakes around the cake looks like a big pink and purple eyeball... oh well.

The big moment has arrived! Will she perform in front of an audience?

No... So Mommy and Daddy blew out the candle for her.

She had a good chunk of icing up her nose

CHEESE!! Can you see her little tooth? She finally got her first tooth about a week before her birthday.

Picking cake off her fingers

This is how you open gifts.

She kept getting mad because as soon as she opened a gift we would take it away and give her another... She LOVES books, so she was quite upset when we took this one away.

I saw this exact same tea set when McKenzie was only 3 or 4 weeks old and I showed it to my mom and said, "I'm totally getting this for her when she is older!" So my mom suprised me and got it for her birthday! (It's porcelain so we'll have to wait a few years before we let her play with it, but I was SO excited!!)

Michelle and Alyson picked out some cute clothes for McKenzie. (Which happen to say how much McKenzie loves her Auntie's haha) And of course McKenzie is mad because we had just taken away yet another present...

Peeking inside the bag

My dad got her a Noah's Ark play set with a ton of animals. She LOVES it!

Meme and Grampy gave her an Elmo cell phone which is really cute. When you close it it says, "Thanks for calling!" Haha!

My mom also got her a doll stroller to match the one my niece has. McKenzie tested it out on the grass and loves it!

Happy Family- with a baby trying to get icing out of her nose.

4 Generations on my Mom's side

4 Generations on my Dad's side. I love her cheesy smile!

We were going to get a 4 Generation picture with Micah's family but Grandma Gale had left before we took it... oh well. I'm sure we'll get more pictures another time.

Thanks to everyone who came- McKenzie LOVES all her gifts! She certainly is spoiled and she won't be needing anything for quite some time. We love you all and it was so much fun to see you!

Oh, man. I wish I could have been there. Soon enough, though! She is getting more beautiful all the time. And hopefully I'll have her present done when I get there. ;)
