Holly Jolly Christmas!

I don't know about you guys, but Christmas flew by! I can't believe tomorrow is New Years Eve! The Bate family sure had a wonderful Christmas.

I had a hard time picking out pictures to show what cute stuff we got, mostly because I need to get a copy from my Mom and Dad's camera since they were taking more pictures than we were. But here is a super cute dress McKenzie got!

Micah and I were excited about being able to sleep in on Christmas, since McKenzie doesn't usually wake up til 8:30 or 9 (I know I know...we're lucky!!) But because we had so many places to go and the weather was going to be bad, we had to get an early start. And so we had a tired baby who didn't look all excited about Christmas. Either that, or it was the bows Micah was putting on her head.

McKenzie got this for me and Micah. Isn't she so thoughtful?! Ha ha ha... we had this made back in October. If you want one (and live in Utah) we got it made by "Tiny Touches"

See how excited she is about her second bow?

And even more bows...

These were her Christmas jammies- ladybugs! Thanks Meme!

Lately McKenzie has been way into cups. If we had known a little earlier we could've told everyone to just hold off on the toys and get her a set of plastic cups... We give her a few drops of water every once-in-a-while and she thinks it is pretty funny. (I love her crazy hair...)

I had gotten a walker from one of my baby showers but we hadn't ever opened it. We thought it'd be a nice Christmas present, and McKenzie LOVES it! She can barely reach the ground now, but in a month or two she'll be able to scoot around in it.

So happy!!

Tonight she was making a strange noise so I decided to go check on her. I guess she thought her foot made a good replacement when she couldn't find her binkie... Silly baby.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We finally decorated our tree! It was fun and we wanted McKenzie to help too. She more or less tried to eat the ornaments, so we ended up just doing it ourselves. She loves the lights!

My mom bought McKenzie her Christmas dress (which I already posted pics of in the Thanksgiving post) But I wanted to get more of a formal picture. Of course, getting that perfect picture takes a few tries....

Ta-Da!! The winner!!

We drove up to Salt Lake with my dad to see the lights on Temple Square for family night. We wanted to take some pretty pictures, but the flash was either too bright, or if we didn't have the flash it was too dark...oh well. The crane makes a fine addition to the picture, don't you think?

It was cold so we decided to go inside the vistor's center and get warmed up.

She loves to make faces at Papa!

I love this picture! Such a cute moment!

The Bate Family

They had Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in the middle of the reflection pond. It was so neat to see!

Fun times

Sorry it's been so long since I did a post... Our internet is LAME!!! And when I try to sit down to put up a new post it decides it doesn't want to work. Anywho, here are some pics from the last 2 weeks.

It was Mom's birthday on the 5th so we went up to their house for a birthday party and had a great time. McKenzie loves visiting her Grandma and Grandpa!

Grandma Bate was so excited to see McKenzie too!

We have such a happy baby! This is definately one of my favorite pictures of her.

McKenzie has discovered her tongue. She loves to stick it out at people and I think it's been a big help in comforting her gums since she's teething...

As I was going through all my pictures I realized there are only a few of me actually holding McKenzie. I guess it's cause I'm the only one who ever takes pictures... so Meme took some of me when she stopped by for a visit. Oh yeah, I highlighted my hair and got bangs a few weeks ago. So what do you think?

She was being fussy during naptime so the bunny got to take a nap with her.

This is McKenzie's "Cabbage Patch" face. Hehehehe

She is such a little lady. She crosses her legs ALL the time! Haha!

Thanksgiving

Well November has come and gone and it was a great month. McKenzie is growing and learning so much! I'm sorry I haven't posted pictures of her in a while so here are a ton for you to enjoy.

A couple weeks ago my friend called and needed me to watch her son for a few hours. He's 8 weeks older than McKenzie and I figured they'd have fun playing together. McKenzie hadn't ever had a playdate yet, so this was a good trial run.

They were laying on the blanket and I about DIED when I looked and saw Brayton holding McKenzie's hand!!! This pic was taken just before he let go, but I just LOVE the sneaky little smile on McKenzie's face. It's like she thinks she's getting away with something... So I guess you could say that Brayton is her first boyfriend, but we'll have to see how things turn out once little David gets older and has to compete for her love. Hahaha!

Happy babies!

Taking a nap with a bib on her face

For Thanksgiving we had all of Micah's family come over to our house. (Except Mom, Dad and the girls because they were in Colorado visiting Aj and Kim- We missed you guys!) It was so much fun to have everyone over. With 30+ people in the house there were plenty of hugs and kisses for McKenzie. Here she's snuggling with her Great-Grandma Gale.

And playing with Great-Grandma Bate

The Maughan family- They brought Carly's Christmas dress so I had to take pictures of her. She's SO cute!!

And then of course we had to put McKenzie in her Christmas dress (Thanks Mom!) and take pictures of them together. Carly was being so sweet and trying to give McKenzie her binkie.

Look how cute and poofy her dress is!! (And McKenzie wanted to show some leg... and diaper)

Cute cousins!

Carly up close

McKenzie wasn't sure what to think of Uncle Jared's beard. He was growing it out for some fundraiser for his ward. Something about "Neanderthal November"...haha

Yesterday McKenzie had her 4 month checkup. And once again she was poked by the mean nurse lady, but she did a little better this time. I laughed when they told us how much she had grown- at her 2 month appointment she was 50% for weight and 20% for height, at this appointment she was 20% for weight and 75% for height! Apparently she stretched out.

She got Hello Kitty band-aids this time. We love her little chub-chub legs!
